The model of the Merkava Mk. I/II tank has been faithfully reproduced from 825 COBI building blocks and realistically reflects the appearance of its museum counterpart. Movable elements such as the tank's turret and barrel, rotating wheels and tracks, and opening hatches allow all fans of building blocks and militaria to enjoy the model. The tank's engine is also reproduced, which you can look into by opening the service hatch. Thanks to intuitive instructions, construction is simple and exciting. Any adult enthusiast of history and military technology will surely enjoy adding to his collection with this model. Thanks to the model's 1:35 scale, the tank fits in with the other vehicles released in the Armed Forces series and will go well with the Leopard 2A4, Leopard 2A5 and Abrams.

In cooperation with Deutsches Panzermuseum Munster, we have prepared a model of the museum copy of the Merkava Mk. I/II tank. The Merkava is the first basic tank designed and produced in Israel. Serial production began in 1979. Since then, four generations have already been produced. The tank is used exclusively by the Israel Defense Forces and has participated in all armed conflicts and military operations that took place after the Yom Kippur War involving the State of Israel.

The tank was designed according to very specific IDF requirements.

Above all, it provides very good protection for the tank crew, which is extremely valuable to Israel. The engine has been placed at the front, is easily accessible and further protects the crew. The turret and fighting compartment are located at the rear of the tank. The turret is wedge-shaped, and the hull has a low profile which makes it easier to ricochet off bullets. High firepower is provided by an improved 105 mm caliber M68 cannon. An emptied ammunition compartment makes it possible to transport landing craft. Among other things, the Merkava II tank was equipped with reinforced armor, screens on the sides and a better fire control system. The Merkava II tanks were eventually replaced by the 3rd and 4th generations probably in 2021.
