Special Forces Group Combat Service Identification Badge (CSIB) insignia is an original badge manufactured in the U.S.A. in accordance with applicable U.S. Government specifications.

The Combat Service Identification Badge (CSIB) is a metallic heraldic device worn on the right side of the United States Army's Army Service Uniform that uniquely identifies a soldier's combat service with major U.S. Army formations. Soldiers can wear the CSIB on the new blue Army Service Uniform, Class A and Class B. The CSIB cannot be worn on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) or the discontinued Army Green Uniform.

The Special Forces Group CSIB insignia is worn by all units subordinate to 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne).

The meaning of the U.S. Army Special Forces shoulder sleeve insignia:

• the arrowhead alludes to the American Indian's basic skills in which Special Forces personnel are trained to a high degree,
• the dagger represents the unconventional nature of Special Forces operations,
• three lightning flashes, their ability to strike rapidly by air, water or land.
