Velcro U.S. Reversed Flag Patch - IR (Infrared) is manufactured in the U.S.A. in accordance with applicable U.S. Government specifications. The infrared visible (IR) shoulder flags, insignia or patches are attached by Velcro on helmets or on shoulders.
Flag patches are required on any military uniform and are an essential item for combat identification of friendly troops. Sewn in subdued colors are visible only when viewed through night vision equipment. When viewed through night vision equipment, the patches will reflect infrared IR lights, for the safe and effective identification of US troops.
IR identification products are made from a passive material engineered to absorb all visual light spectrum and reflect back only infrared. IR reflective products will remain covert and will be activated only when IR laser / light is pointed at. As a result, only one type of patch can be worn, regardless of the lighting conditions. The reflected IR is returned in a narrow-angle and can only be observed from the IR source viewpoint.
