Air Force Survival Evasion Resistance Escape - SERE Beret Badge is an original tab manufactured in the U.S.A. in accordance with applicable U.S. Government specifications.
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) is a training program, best known by its military acronym, that prepares U.S. military personnel, U.S. Department of Defense civilians, and private military contractors to survive and "return with honor" in survival scenarios. The curriculum includes survival skills, evading capture, application of the military code of conduct, and techniques for escape from captivity.
Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) specialists are the Air Force’s foremost experts on recovering personnel who have become isolated. Expert on all things surviving, SERE instructors ensure all high risk-of-capture/isolation personnel return with honor from any type of situation.
The strength of SERE specialists lies in their ability to prepare others for the critical Personal Recovery mission. They empower others with skills for survival, evasion, resistance, and escape in adverse conditions. They integrate with other Airmen, military peers, government entities, and foreign allies, in effort to bolster recovery initiatives that guarantee every participant is well-prepared to "return with honor".
