U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Multicam OCP Patch is an original badge manufactured in the U.S.A. in accordance with applicable U.S. Government specifications.
The 82nd Airborne Division is an airborne infantry division of the United States Army, specializing in parachute operations with a US Department of Defense requirement to "respond to emergencies anywhere in the world within 18 hours".
The division was constituted, initially as the 82nd Division, in the National Army on August 5, 1917, shortly after America's entry into World War I, and served with distinction on the Western Front during the final months of World War I.
Because its original members came from all 48 states, the division earned the nickname All-American, which is the basis for its famous "AA" on its shoulder patch.
The division later served in World War II, where it was reconstituted as the first airborne division of the U.S. Army in August 1942 and fought in many campaigns during the war.
Most recently, the 82nd Airborne Division conducted operations in Iraq, advising and assisting the Iraqi Security Forces.
