Army Distinguished Service Cross Miniature is an original medal manufactured in the U.S.A. in accordance with appropriate U.S. Government specifications. 

The legacy of the U.S. Armed Forces veterans is highly protected and it is essential to the mission of USAMM. There are what we deem to be notably important and sacred awards. These awards are solely granted to military personnel for exceptional valor and heroism in combat and fall just short of the Medal of Honor. These awards are the following:

1. Army Distinguished Service Cross
2. Air Force Cross
3. Navy Cross

It is vital that we protect the legacy of these awards and their recipients.

The Army Distinguished Service Cross Medal (DSC) is the United States Army's second highest military decoration for soldiers for extreme gallantry and risk of life in actual combat with an armed enemy force. Operations which merit the DSC need to be of such a high degree to be above those mandatory for all other U.S. combat decorations but not meeting the criteria for the Medal of Honor. 

The extraordinary heroism action must have taken place under one of the following circumstances: While serving in active combat against enemy forces, while participating in a military operation against armed enemy forces, or while serving in armed conflict alongside allied forces against an opposing force when the United States is not the aggressor. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her comrades.

Description and symbolism of Army Distinguished Service Cross Medal:

Bronze cross is suspended from a red, white, and blue ribbon. An eagle rests in the center of the cross. Below the eagle, a scroll bears the inscription "FOR VALOR." On reverse, the center of the cross is circled by a wreath with a space for the name of the recipient. Additional awards of the Army Distinguished Service Cross are denoted with oak leaf clusters.

The ribbon is Imperial Blue, edged with Old Glory Red, and bears a narrow White vertical stripe inside the red edges.

Wear miniature medals and breast insignia on civilian evening dress (white tie dress code) or civilian dinner dress (black tie dress code) in the same manner as for dinner dress uniform jackets.
