United States Army Special Forces, commonly known as Green Berets because of their characteristic headgear. These are special forces of the United States Army whose tasks include: unconventional warfare, internal defense abroad, direct action, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, information operations, countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. 

Since their creation in 1952, Special Forces soldiers have operated in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, North Vietnam, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia, Panama, Haiti, Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo. They took part in fighting in the First Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq, Philippines , Syria, Yemen, among others.
